One genre I plan to create is a flyer.
1. The flyer will serve as a great way to communicate between the public and the organization. My research paper was on my local nonprofit organization called Forward Paths. They help homeless youth and youth aging out of foster care get back on their feet. A flyer is a good way to inform youth about the program without making them feel singled out or forced to get help
2. In the flyer, I will be using both pathos and logos, the flyer will include facts (logos) about the date, time, and location of a certain Forward Paths event. It will also have the phone number and office address to help those who are in need of assistance. For pathos, it will contain quotes from children in the program about how their life has changed.
3. My audience in for this genre is directed at both individuals wanting to help with the organization and those in search of help from the organization.
4. One alternative genre I could create in its place would be a video Ad taking about the upcoming events of Forward Paths, how to get involved in forward paths, and how to receive help form Forward Paths.
The section Sequence your Genres describes how you should organize and plan how you’re going to present things to your target audience. It talks about how your genes should flow together and back up one another. For my presentation, I first planned on starting off with my PowerPoint. This will inform the audience right away about what Forward Paths is and what all it has to offer. I would then transition to my Video add which will include quotes from members in the program and a quick summary of how to get involved in the program. I will then end my presentation with my flyer. This flyer will contain the date and information about one of Forward Paths events to help raise money to continue the foundation.
